It’s been fun….
Hard to believe, but here it is the last day of classes for the semester. Â Also hard to believe is that this will be my final blog as sports editor of The Reflector.
It’s been a fun year in the world of sports, specifically here at Mount Royal. Â One national championship, several provincial titles, athletes of the year, coaches of the year, athletic and academic all-Canadians and way too many good stories to rehash in a short entry such as this.
I would simply like to take this opportunity to thank all the student-athletes and coaches for their hard work and excellence this year, and I would like to thank them for always being willing to answer their phones and emails and talk Cougars Athletics.
I would also like to thank a number of people whose names don’t often appear (or appear at all) in the pages of The Reflector. Â Kyle Henry, Karla Karch and Kimmo Korvela have been invaluable resources this year and their efforts and contributions are very, very much appreciated.
It will be an interesting spring and summer. Â In a few short months, a new crop of students and student athletes will join the Mount Royal community. Â There will be new expectations, new pressures, and for some of MRU’s varsity sports teams, bulls-eyes painted squarely on their backs. Â The message and goals will like
