Get Involved

The Reflector is run by students, for students. All of the writing and editorial positions are filled by student volunteers. We always need more volunteers and no experience is necessary.

If you are interested in journalism as an avocation or if you’re training to become a print, radio, online, or broadcast journalist you should augment your academic work with practical, hands-on experience at The Reflector. Our talented editorial staff are happy to act as mentors to those wishing to develop their journalism skills.

We are also expanding the multimedia component of our website which should appeal to students involved in radio, broadcast, and online production.

As the official student newspaper of Mount Royal University we have an obligation to cover campus-based stories extensively. But, we also have a broader focus that includes issues that are important to locals and those who are temporarily local.

We have story meetings on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. in The Reflector office, which is located in room Z002 in the basement of Wyckham House; we are situated right across from the Health Benefits office.
