REFLECTORIAL: Adios Amigos…
Well my time at MRU has come to an end, and I’m actually more upset about it than I thought I would be. My time at Mount Royal has been super rewarding. I have made some amazing friends that will definitely last forever, I have learned a ton about communications and myself and I have memories that are irreplaceable.
One of my favourite things about my time at MRU is the time I have worked on The Reflector. I have been a part of the staff at this little newspaper that could for three of my four years here at the University, and all of those three years have been amazing.
Not only have I been fortunate enough to go on some amazing trips but I have also had the opportunity to work with staff members who are so unbelievably talented, intelligent and creative. Although every year that the editorial staff changes The Reflector changes, you can definitely expect those changes to be positive, and I am so excited for what the new team will bring to the paper.
Keep in mind when you are reading that this is YOUR campus newspaper! So tell us what you want to hear, tell us what you’re tired of hearing and tell us what you are loving! Because we read all of your comments, and our tiny office in the basement of Wyckham is always hear to listen to your thoughts or suggestions.
I never thought I would be saying that I would miss this place, and I never thought that this day would come where I was saying goodbye, but trust me it came faster than you could ever believe! So enjoy it, I swear you miss it when you’re done.
If I could give any piece of advice to those of you who are just beginning your university career it would be this, don’t take any of it for granted, because you will only get this experience once, unless you come back. University is such a privilege, and sure when you are piled under all of your assignments it may not seem like a privilege there are so many people who are not fortunate enough to get a University education, so we are the lucky ones.
Good luck fellow students, I hope you all find all of the success you hope for!
As I said, Adios!
