Lens Monkey or no?: ‘We’re not competitive.’ — Mclaren

Uhg oh! It looks like Mclaren are not as competitive as some thought they would. That being said the team could be sandbagging it in testing. Norbert Haug Mclaren’s chief engineer has conceded that after introducing a new aero package the team are concerned with how this new setup is not giving them the performance they were looking for. The team has fallen to the bottom of the time sheets in these weeks’ tests and has been out preformed by the likes of Ferrari and the new Brawn GP team. The problem seems to be with the new aero package introduced this week. All other tests that the Mclaren team that have been conducted during winter testing were done with the 2008 aero package.
