VP University Student Affairs Candidate: Zoe Slusar
Zoe Slusar
Bachelor of Arts
1. What is your platform?
If elected I will be the most engaged and visible VP Student Life ever. I will bring the role out of the office and into the halls. You will regularly see me on main street and in Wyckham House so that I can hear your ideas and work to
make them happen. U-Fest is a great tradition. I want to bring you an event equally as epic during the Winter semester. I’d also like to begin new traditions, such as hosting fun competitions between MRU and U of C. I want to
strengthen our campus culture by supporting & promoting the fantastic clubs that exist and encouraging bigger turn outs for Cougar athletics games. I will strive to keep you happy and healthy by bringing you new food options and
awareness about support services on campus. I will increase communication about what’s happening at MRU so you don’t miss out. As students you are my boss and my job is to amplify your voice. As VP SL I will strive to make your
experience at MRU as fun and fulfilling as possible.
2. What do you think SAMRU’s role is and why do you think it’s important for students?
The role of SAMRU is to represent student’s interests to the University and to amplify the student’s voice. I think this role is incredibly important. It’s vital for students to have representatives who communicate their needs/ideas to the
University. SAMRU helps engage students and allows them to make the positive changes they want a reality. SAMRU helps to empower students and I would love to be a part of this process as VP Student Life.
3. What qualifies you to be elected for the position you are running for?
I encourage you all to visit my website www.votezoe.info and view the video on the home page, it was a blast to make, and I think it’s a great example of how I can get students on campus interacting and having fun.In the past 8 years
working as an independent filmmaker I have had to think outside the box in order to turn creative ideas to reality, and I am able to produce an awesome final product on a limited budget. I want to translate this experience to the role of
VP Student Life and bring you large scale awesome events more than once a year, as well as create more videos with students to build MRU pride. As an independent filmmaker I am skilled at securing funding, promoting events and I
bring genuine enthusiasm to all my interactions. I will increase the accessibility of VP Student Life for students in order to produce results that help you make the most of your experience at MRU.
Vote Zoe and Let’s Light Up Student Life!
