Sled Island Day 2
Day 2.
The plan was to not be as wrecked as yesterday.
It sort of worked.
Thursday at work wasn’t as productive as I wanted to be, but what the fuck did expect?
Not much.
Thursday started with Foon Yap & The Roar at Broken City. Foon texted me to meet her and while I was late, I got the best of it. Glitter and the infectious crazy dance.

The one and only Foon Yap

sexy.

Definitely the Roar (though that's the backing band)

This guy caught the stuffed dog filled with glitter. Manly.

After I was off to see Hollerado. Their album was released early this year and it’s been on heavy rotation on my iPod. It was a rockin’ good time – the boys were very appreciative to play the crowd and it didn’t take long for everyone to get off their asses and rock out.

Hollerado.
At this point the photos ended.
Met up with the boys from Apollo Ghost at the Republik who had plans to go to four different venues but couldn’t find them. We chilled on the patio as the Posies played – as did many – and waited for Deerhoof. AG’s been around for 3 years, but Adrian and Jay have been playing together for 9. It was their first show in Calgary. You can catch them at the Arrata Opera centre at 10:30 p.m (Saturday).
It was also hit and miss meeting up with Aaron from Hunter-Gatherer. The guy is super cool so I’ll likely run into him later. Their playing upstairs at the Legion at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
For some reason I didn’t care to stick around for Deerhoof. I made my way back to the Distillery to catch Mariachi el Bronx. And fuck was that ever a good idea. A smile immediately came upon my face and stayed. I’m definitely going to see them again.
