On Campus: Seasonal flu vaccine at Mount Royal
Oct 13th, 2009 | By NewsEditor | Category: Blogs, On campus
Mount Royal will be providing seasonal flu vaccinations on campus from Monday Oct. 19 to Friday Oct. 23.
The vaccinations will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in room U216 in the EnCana Wellness Centre in Mount Royal University. The seasonal flue vaccine is different from the H1N1 flu vaccine, which is not yet available. Francesca Mancini, wellness services administrator for the Encana Wellness Centre, wrote that the H1N1 vaccine will not be made available on Mount Royal’s campus.
Mancini mentioned that the vaccine will be most beneficial to people 65 years of age or older, people living in a group setting such as continuing care and designated living and Mount Royal nursing students. Household contacts for these identified groups should also be immunized according to Mancini.
People interested in getting the seasonal flu vaccine must bring their Alberta Health Care card.
